The Master’s Degree in Economics of FGV EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance aims to provide a broad and solid conceptual basis in Economics. It prepares students for further study in the PhD program of FGV EPGE itself, or another institution, as well as for immediate entry into various professional activities in the public and private sectors and in the academic field.
FGV EPGE’s Master’s program follows the models of major international economics departments. Students pursuing the Master’s degree have an ideal deadline of twenty-four (24) months and a maximum of twenty-seven (27) months to obtain the degree.

ANPEC ENTRY
The usual and basic reference for entry into the Master’s program is the exam of National Association of Postgraduate Centers in Economics (ANPEC), held on an annual basis. The classification used by the School in the ANPEC examination considers the grades in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics, and Statistics, with equal weights. Applicants selected according to this criteria are not required to submit additional material.
ANPEC CALENDAR:
• Registration: until July 31, 2019
• Examinations: September 25 and 26, 2019
• Result: Monday, November 4, 2019
SCHOLARSHIPS
Students in the Program are typically able to obtain a full scholarship according to their course. The values and rules for obtaining and maintaining scholarships are subject to the rules established by public funding agencies, namely, CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development), CAPES/PROEX (Coordination for Improvement of Higher-Education Personnel / Academic Excellence Program), and FAPERJ (Research Support Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro). Partnerships with a number of private institutions have also made it possible over the past few years to provide additional scholarships.
