Double-sided documents or documents containing more than one page must be scanned and turned into a single file (e.g. photo ID, passport, diploma, etc.)
Illegible and incomplete documents and those that do not meet the aforementioned standards will invalidate the respective candidate’s application.
Candidates should consult the status of the documentation they submit at www.fgv.br/processoseletivo/CMMMI, in the Overview menu, via the Track Your Application link. The documents will be verified within 3 (three) working days.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Master’s candidates will be selected by a Selection Commission made up of the program’s professors, in line with the criteria below. All the stages are eliminatory:
1st stage – Analysis of documents
2nd stage – Successful completion of Leveling Course (Summer Course)
3rd stage – Interview
1st stage – Analysis of documents (see the documents listed in the public notice)
2nd stage – Successful completion of Leveling Course (Summer Course)
The objective of this course is to bolster candidates’ academic education in mathematics and informatics, favoring learning and academic performance during the course.
The Summer Course is mandatory and the Selection Commission may require candidates to take one or both subjects (see the table below). Candidates will only pass the Master’s selection process if they perform well in the Summer Course.
The course lasts 4 (four) weeks and there are 60 (sixty) hours of classes.

Only candidates who pass this stage will be invited for an interview.
3rd stage – Interview
The selection interview will take place in the period specified in the public notice.
Candidates who live in other states may have the interview via Skype.
The interview will be scheduled by the course coordinators via email or phone.

CRITERIA FOR APPROVING CANDIDATES
The final average score will be calculated in accordance with the public notice and 7.0 (seven) will be the minimum score for approval. The criteria will be judged by a committee that will evaluate the candidates’ ability to analyze scenarios and support decision making in situations of intensive data use, in addition to significant contributions to research in this area.
In the case of a tie, the ranking will be defined in line with the following criteria:
Highest document analysis score;
Highest score in “Fundamentals of Mathematics: An Introduction to Analysis” subject;
Highest interview score;
If there is still a tie, the oldest student will be ranked first.

FINAL RESULTS:
The final results of the master’s selection process will be announced on February 22, 2021, in the form of an alphabetical list of successful candidates. These successful candidates will be contacted by the School of Applied Mathematics (FGV EMAp) by phone and/or email and they must then confirm their intention to matriculate with the Academic Records Office no later than the deadline stated in this document.
